Stations of the Cross was an annual exhibition presented by Uniting Church in the City, Perth. In 2017, curated by Claire Bushby, the exhibition featured newly commissioned works by fifteen contemporary Western Australian artists. Each artist responded to one of the traditional Stations of the Cross, interpreting the Easter narrative through their own cultural, spiritual, and creative lens. Artists were invited to explore the embodiment of humanity and universal themes—such as grief, loss, oppression, and mortality—through painting, sculpture, textiles, and more, creating space for interfaith dialogue and reflection on our shared human experience.
